Dysport

Dysport is a local muscle relaxant (or neuromuscular blocking agent) adapted from the botulinum neuromodulator type-A and is used in both aesthetic and therapeutic indications.

What Does Dysport Do?

Dysport treatments are another type of injectable that can help to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. Dysport is made from botulinum toxin type A, similar to Botox.

Dysport works by temporarily preventing muscle contraction, helping to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and other imperfections.

How Fast Does Dysport Work?

You can usually expect to see results from Dysport injections within 2–3 days of your first treatment session, but it may take up to 10–14 days to see your final results. You'll need to wait approximately 2 weeks after your treatment to see the final results.

How Long Does Dysport Last?

Dysport typically lasts three to six months for most patients, but the results can vary depending on factors such as metabolism, the area being treated, and how often you use the facial muscles. For example, people with a faster metabolism might notice the effects diminishing sooner, typically around the 3-month mark, while those with a slower metabolism may enjoy the benefits for a longer period, often up to 4 to 6 months.

How Do I Prepare for Dysport?

Schedule in Advance
It is recommended you make your Dysport treatments as least two weeks in advance of any special events to ensure the best possible result.
Avoid Alcohol and Caffeine
You’ll be asked to avoid alcohol and caffeine at least 48 hours prior to treatment to avoid increased bruising or bleeding.
2 Week Post Chemical Peels
You’ll be asked to confirm it has been at least 2 weeks since your last facial or peel.
Avoid NSAIDs
Avoid medications: Stop taking blood thinners, aspirin, ibuprofen, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) at least two days before your appointment.

What is the Aftercare for Dysport?

Avoid Laying Down
You should avoid laying down or bending over for the first few hours after receiving Botox. This can cause treatment to shift from its direct/specific placement.
Avoid Exercise
Avoid any strenuous exercise, and manipulation of the area several hours post treatment.
Maintain Treatment
Regular treatment is necessary to maintain results, optimally done prior to the Botox wearing off.
