Laser Hair Removal

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

During laser hair removal, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth.

How Fast Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

You might see results from laser hair removal immediately after treatment. The first treatment typically reduces hair by 10–25%. Within 5–19 days of the first treatment, you might notice hair thinning and patchiness. This happens because the destroyed hair follicles shed their visible hair within a week of treatment.

How Long Does Laser Hair Removal Last?

Laser hair removal results can last for several months to years, but it's not permanent. Most people need 2–6 treatments to remove hair, and after that, they may not see any hair for months or years.
